Health, Safety and the Environment is integral to Orion’s operations. Protecting our employees, subcontractors, clients, visitors, property, equipment, environment, and general public always come before profit.
Our rigorous safety programs and procedures create a safety culture that everyone can believe in. We are committed to providing the proper equipment, training, and procedures; employees and subcontractors are expected to follow safe work procedures. We all play a role in the health and safety of our colleagues and clients.
Every Project is supported with Turnkey Safety
Orion Environmental provides all safety supervision and equipment as part of our Turnkey Inspections Solutions. This includes:
- Experienced, certified safety personnel
- Per job planning
- Tank/Vessel entry supervision
- Sour/Combustible gas monitoring
- SCBA
All employees are trained in: First Aid, H2S, WHIMS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Ground Disturbance and Confined Space.
Orion Safety Program Certification: COR – Certificate of Recognition, ISNetworld Compliant and ComplyWorks, Avetta, CanQual, Gold Shovel Standard Certification.

Indigenous Partnerships
Orion Environmental is Indigenous owned and operated since 2010 by The Motkoski family from Whitecourt, Alberta. CEO / President Trevor Motkoski is a member of the Metis Regional Council Zone 4 of Central Alberta.
Orion values a strong commitment to Indigenous inclusion and partnerships through strong relationships, open communication and sustainable business ventures. We recognize First Nation, Inuit and Metis Indigenous Rights under the Constitution of Canada and respects their connection with the land and its natural resources.
The majority of our work is conducted on Indigenous traditional territories, including Treaty, Metis lands and communities. Our Indigenous Policy is part of our core values and we diligently implement its guidelines to support the growth and development of other Indigenous businesses. Through partnerships and consistently supporting indigenous individuals with long term meaningful employment and training, we have successfully built long-term opportunities for all stakeholders for 20 plus years.
Orion has established both inter-provincial and international operations, recently expanding to service clients in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia and the Caribbean. Recognizing the Indigenous communities and their traditional territories, Orion has initiated formal partnerships and works with local communities and other Indigenous businesses.
